An Interview with |
|
The ___________________________ As you will soon find out, deception is a two way street. This book is actually an interview with an Angel of Light whose mission is to expose "The Dark Side" for what it is. He/She shines the God-Light of Love, Inclusion, and Oneness into the pit of illusion, separation, darkness, anger, and fear. F.A.Questions° |

. A Wakeup Call . This book is one small step toward creating a forum for the evolution of human consciousness. Our social and political conflicts offer opportunities for us, as a global society, to re-examine the unprovable assumptions (the illusions) that we believe and act upon as if they were provable truths. These conflicts are also forcing us to examine our own ignorance, our arrogance, and naiveté -- forcing us to look at ourselves and see that much of what we believe about reality has absolutely nothing to do with reality. One of our goals is to add a little humor to multi-sided topics about which strongly-held and seemingly irreconcilable positions are being peddled to the public as if their side were God's words and the other side was speaking for the Devil. This book also examines, in considerable detail, a long list of cherished illusions and unprovable assumptions regarding life and religion. |

. Serious . . . Yet Hardly Solemn: . The mission of this book is to break through normal human passiveness and to expose our religious illusions. An Interview with the Devil was intentionally designed to trigger emotional responses and to confront those peddling deception and half-truths; to confront those attempting to defy the U.S. Constitution, which prohibits making secular laws out of religion beliefs -- beliefs which have no evidence to support them. So, if you don’t either love this books or find it offensive, I’ve failed to do my job. This statement of purpose gives you, as its reader, two choices: You can condemn the writing style and the use of the Devil as a metaphor, and so discard the content. However, as we both well know that that’s simply a "reasonable excuse" not to take this work seriously and an excuse to disregard its intent and content. It's intent is to offer a loving invitation to you to re-examine your own deeply held, but possibly uninformed or misinformed religious concepts. On the other hand, you can choose to read the book, with all its "warts and quirks," to see religion from a vantage point where, I guarantee, you have never seen before. |
.
|
. Everybody is a Good Guy: . The vast majority of religious people are very caring and loving human beings. Most religious followers are "good guys" who have honorable intentions. Consider looking at everyone with religious beliefs that differ from ours as fellow human beings who simply hold different points of view, and relating with them in a cooperation-partnership mode instead of our current dominator-manipulator mode. |
.
|
. Broadening Our Perspective: . Collectively, we need to examine a long list of cherished illusions and assumptions. We need to re-answer such questions as: What is the purpose of government? What is the purpose of religion? How do the two interrelate? Before coming to any "carved-in-stone" conclusions regarding our religious beliefs, we would do well to consider all the known factors involved such as: the environmental, the social and the political contexts in which we live and what are the long-term consequences of the actions our beliefs precipitate. |

. You
Are The Final Judge . Please
avoid blindly accepting anything you see, hear or read, here or elsewhere,
simply because someone says so, regardless of his or her title, position,
reputation, etc. On the other hand, it is equally foolish to reject
another's point of view simply because it does not substantiate your own
opinions, fixed impressions, and beliefs about reality. Remember,
reality is whatever reality is regardless of what any of us believes it to
be. Look
for yourself at the evidence here and elsewhere. Accept what fits
for you right now and then trash the rest. If it is truth, if it is
meant for you and you've just trashed it, that's okay. It will come
around again. On the other hand, if the same message has come to you
several times from several sources, you would probably do well to listen this
time.

. Wandering
Off Track:
. Although
the story at times may seem to wander off into seemingly unrelated issues,
please be assured that these side trips are intentional and will later be seen
as relative to the basic story line. These side issues are
included, first, because some of you may not be familiar with these
perspectives, second, because they take you outside the commonly accepted ways
of looking at things, and, third, they offer unusual perspectives, choices and
options.

. For
The Highest Good Of All Concerned:
. This
work is written in loving concern
for the well-being of all of us,
including our descendants. There
are three mutually exclusive
philosophic theories about the
afterlife:*** 1)
Atheism -- one life on Earth and
then nothing. 2)
Reincarnation -- a series of lives
on Earth
-- Common to the Eastern religions
such as Buddhism and Hinduism. 3)
Christian One-life-ism --- One
life on Earth and then heaven or
hell forever -- Common to Christians. If
the philosophy involving
reincarnation should, in future
time, prove to be the correct
theory, our descendants could turn
out to be none other than you and
me. With that as a distinct
possibility, I would like to create
a society in which any future role
that I might choose to play is an
acceptable one. . |

. Illusions: . This author’s intention is to describe Christian, religious beliefs accurately, candidly, objectively, and fairly. I must admit that the evidence so overwhelmingly demands a reevaluation of Christian theology that remaining objective has become a major challenge. Also, I make no claims of perfection, thus there may be illusions or errors hiding among words written in this book or in other pages on this website. If you find errors, or have comments or suggestions, please contact the author and/or the editors at the web address listed on the Contact Us page. . Lies, deception, and cons are my games. Depravity, Sleaze, and Corruption, are my middle names. Trickery, fraud, and hoaxes are my calls to fame. I could sell snake oil to a snake oil salesmen, so don’t try to second-guess me or put any expectations between us. I guarantee that, if you do, you’ll not only be wrong, you’ll also miss the essence of what I have to offer you. |
